Whether viewed on the Web or on disc, Abstracts2View is
your opportunity to review the abstract presentations from annual meetings
or other educational events given around the world. With Abstracts2View
you can review abstracts covering hundreds of different medical specialties.
What
is the best way to view Abstracts2View?
Abstracts2View should be viewed using:
- Internet Explorer
5.2 or above, Netscape 7.0 or above, or Mozilla Firefox, Version 1.0 or higher
- A screen resolution
set at 800x600

How do I review and print my abstracts selected for my itinerary?
- Select the Itinerary link from the navigation bar.
- Narrow which day of the week you would like to display for your itinerary from the "Day to display" drop-down menu.
- Determine the number of abstracts displayed on each page, from the "View Per Page" drop-down menu.
- Select the "Itinerary format" button to display the
abstracts in itinerary format (i.e., the time, location, title and
authors only) or select the "Full abstract" button to
display the full text of each abstract.
- Refine your itinerary and eliminate conflicts. To remove an abstract from your itinerary, select the
"x" next to the title. Conflicts are highlighted.
- View your finalized itinerary by selecting one of the following buttons:
- Print Itinerary (Title,Authors,Date,Time) displays your selected itinerary in a new
window in your browser with your abstracts displayed in the itinerary format (i.e., the time, location, title and
authors only).
- Print Itinerary (Full Abstract) displays your selected itinerary in a new
window in your browser with your abstracts displayed in full abstract format.
- Print your itinerary in the new window by selecting "Print" from your Web
browser's File menu.
How do I download my itinerary for use with my PDA?
- Create your Itinerary using the Abstracts2View program for the current meeting.
- View your selected itinerary.
- Select the link "Download Itinerary". This link displays a dialog window in the browser that gives you the ability to produce and dowload file from the marked items in your itinerary.
- Enter a title for your itinerary.
- Select a specific day from your itinerary (or the default is all days).
- Select a dowload type that is compatible with your PDA.
- Select the link "Download Itinerary". After selecting the link, there is a few second delay.
- Select Save this file to disk from the prompt that appears.
- Save the file to a desired location. Please remember where you download this file so you may return to it later.
How do I do a simple search?
- Enter the text you wish to search in the search textbox found in the navigation bar. You may use the "*" character for wild card searches.
- Click the Go! button in the navigation bar.
How do I use the advanced search?

Select the Advanced Search link from the navigation bar.

On the Advanced Search page, type the
word(s) or phrase(s) you want to find in each search criteria text
box. You may also use an "*" at the end of a word to perform a wild card search.

In the "In:" field, select the
part of the abstract to search, such as the Title. If you wish to search all available fields select All from the drop-down list.

If you have more than one statement in your search criteria, use the Boolean phrase list. In the Boolean phrase list, select the
statement that best suits what you want to find. (See examples
below)

Results for a search on
"brain" in title AND "heart" in body
Returns all abstracts containing
the word "brain" in the title and must also contain the word "heart" in the body of these same abstracts.

Results for a search on
"brain" in title AND NOT "heart" in body
Returns all abstracts containing
the word "brain" in the title but only if the word
"heart" does not appear in the body of the abstract.

Results for a search on
"category" in ALL AND "Cerebrovascular Disease" in ALL
Returns all abstracts containing
the word "category" and the word "Cerebrovascular Disease" in any field.

Results for a search on
"subcategory" in ALL AND "Neuropsychiatry" in body
Returns all abstracts containing
the word "subcategory" and the word "Neuropsychiatry" in the body of these abstracts.

Select the Search button, once you have completely entered the search criteria. If you would like to clear the contents of the window for a new
search, select the Reset Search button.
